Benefits of Hot Yoga

muscle strengh

Builds muscle strength

Strong muscles do more than look good. They also protect us from conditions like arthritis and back pain, and help prevent falls in elderly people.
Increases flexibility

Increases flexibility

Improved flexibility is one of the first and most obvious benefits of yoga. In your first class, you may not be able to touch your toes, never mind do a backbend. But if you stick with it, you’ll notice a gradual loosening, and eventually, seemingly impossible poses will become possible.
bone health

Improves bone health

It’s well documented that weight-bearing exercise strengthens bones and helps ward off osteoporosis.

”The rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind & the harmony of the soul create the symphony of life.”

~ B.K.S. Iyengar

Our Instructors

Alina began practicing yoga 3 years ago, and since her first yoga class she aspired to become a teacher. There was this feeling that resulted from every class that she felt needed to be shared with the world. Alina trained with Jessie Fletcher to receive her 200 RYT certification in July of 2016. For Alina, Yoga provides a relief or safe haven, from the hectic, sometimes crazy, world that we live in. Come practice with Alina to discover your body’s potential. Yoga has the power to destroy the old, making room for the new to flourish, inspire others, and bring people together to build remarkable communities.

Kara brings one of her core life philosophies to each and every class: if you don’t challenge yourself, you can’t change yourself. Regardless of where you are at in your life or the current moment, Kara’s high energy delivery of the dialogue keeps you in the present and focused on the challenge in every posture. By the end of each class, Kara’s goal for each of her students is that they feel great about themselves, knowing they’ve accomplished something for their body, mind and spirit. "Honest effort equals honest results.”

Julie received her 200 hour teacher training certificate in the Hot Yoga Sequence (Bikram) series in Mexico, July, 2014. She has been practicing Bikram since 2000. Over the years she has practiced and attended trainings/workshops in Vinyasa, Kundalini, Baptiste, Ashtanga, and the aspect of most interest to her, the SCIENCE of Yoga. She hopes to inspire continued empirical research in the practice, application, and study of yoga. For Julie, the best part of this journey is the infinite and evolving science with collective effort and contribution from both the East and West.

Meredith teaches Pilates/Yoga fusion hybrid. Yoga came to Meredith later in life, when she fell in love with the Ashtanga practice. A serious back injury took her out of the ballet world and away from the intense Ashtanga series. What initially seemed to be a series of pretty poses, Meredith quickly realized that yoga could be used for rehabilitation of her injury. Meredith began studying Iyengar and the Hot practice at Atlanta Hot Yoga. This life-changing shift led her to teacher training, and to getting her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Certification.
